A switched-mode power supply is a power supply unit that incorporates a switching regulator that converts a power source with high efficiency. In the process of obtaining output power from input power using a power converter, a switching element converts and adjusts power. Switched-mode power supplies have several rotary types. There are large sizes, insulated flyback methods in which a large current flows through the capacitor, non-insulated types, buck-boost type circuits capable of step-up / step-down, full-bridge methods with a multi-stone basic switch arm, etc. There are also differences due to adjustable features such as constant power, constant current, constant voltage, etc. Also, there are devices with functions such as monitoring power supplies and voltage, functions with high efficiency and long life due to reduced power loss, and more compact devices.
Answer: A switching power supply is a device for transforming electricity from High voltage alternating current to low-voltage direct current to supply electronic circuits. Switching power supply has the advantage point that smaller and lighter than the Linear power supply. On the other hand, the heat transfer area is smaller than the Linear power supply.
Question: What is the principle of Switching power supply?
Answer: A switching power supply is working by a rectifier that converts alternating current voltage to direct current voltage. Then converter will convert direct current to high-frequency direct current and convert alternating current voltage to alternating current. Another important part is the Control circuit which utilizes to control converter to supply correct outout voltage.
Question: What are the components and their usage of switching power supply?
Answer:
1. Filter and rectifier are used to convert alternating current voltage to direct current voltage.
2. Converter is used to convert direct current to high-frequency direct current and convert alternating current voltage to alternating current.
3. Control circuit which utilizes to control converter to supply correct outout voltage.
Question: What are the different points between switching the power supply and transformer?
Answer: A switching power supply is a device for transforming electricity from High voltage alternating current to low-voltage direct current. While transformers are using for transform the voltage level Up/Down of alternating current
Question: What do I need to know before purchasing the switching power supply?
Answer: 1. A Total load of electrical equipment.
2. Consideration of mounting position and installation.
3. Consideration of required features and specifications.
4. Installation area should have good air flow for heat transfers. Heat affected the efficiency of switching the power supply.
Question: How to select a switching power supply?
Answer: 1. Maximum capacities should be over the total load by at least 30%.
2. Should beware of the temperature of the operation area.
3. Should consider the operating environment.
4. Consideration of Power Supply Standards Compliance
